As far as the start of my CrossFit career, I went with a friend to my first class in 2013. I’d be lying if I said I loved it right away. I definitely didn’t! It was hard work and I was severely out of shape despite previous years of high school sports. With athletics, I had always been told what to do, but throughout college and post college I really struggled to find the direction and drive to workout on my own. Knowing what I know now, I wish I would have started CrossFit earlier! It took me about 6-8 months of stopping and starting back up again in order to really get in the routine of sticking with daily workouts and showing up to the gym consistently, but here I am 7 years later – still absolutely loving it and in the best shape of my life (even after having a baby)! I am mentally stronger than ever due to CrossFit, and most of my closest friends I’ve met through the gym.

I love coaching because I get to help others experience all of the life changing benefits that I’ve gotten to experience. Not only do you start to look and feel better, but you also gain confidence and mental toughness, learn new skills, and get to be a part of a community of awesome people of all ages as well. CrossFit 952 has become a second home and the community that we have built is second to none!

As far as my athletic background and coaching qualifications, my main sport that I trained for growing up was gymnastics. I did gymnastics for about 15 years, including 3 years of JO Level 10, competed in 2 Junior Olympic National Championships, and was the MN high school state gymnastics individual champion in 2006. A knee injury before my senior year of high school ended my gymnastics career, but I also had the chance to do track, softball, cheerleading, and broom ball. I currently coach gymnastics and have been coaching for about 6 years now, including JO, Xcel, and high school teams. I attained my Level 1 CrossFit certificate in 2015 and have been coaching CrossFit since then. I also enjoy participating in local CrossFit competitions and tactile competitions.
